Access Bars Class with Eileen Eng – May 20

You know something, I love touch therapies and I have been using touch therapy for literally decades.

Simple touch can ease pain and bring joy and comfort and this class, called the Access Consciousness Bars, is one of my favourites.

Why? Because in just one day you can lead a group of people to touch 32 points on the head that relate to

  • awareness
  • communication
  • time & space
  • healing
  • creativity
  • kindness
  • gratitude
  • peace & calm
  • sexuality
  • aging
  • sadness
  • joy, and more.

What a gift! So simple and yet so potent. The photos below are from the Access Bars class led by Toronto naturopath Eileen Eng with 10 participants on May 20, 2012.

Spectrum Healing Arts Centre Opens April 6, 2012 – Healing The Healer Gathering

After 6 intense years of renovation the beautiful Spectrum Healing Arts Centre, situated on 50 acres of white pine forest at 1127 Bobcaygeon Rd near Minden, Ontario opened for its first gathering on Easter weekend, April 6-8, 2012.

Thirteen participants met to celebrate 3 days of “Healing The Healer”, enjoying group sessions of Jin Shin Jyutsu, Continuum, Laughter Yoga, Hawaiian Lomi Lomi,  and also plain old rest, walks in the woods, campfire and more.

Here are some photos of the Lomi Lomi practice:

I’ve been asked to include the ever popular Yogi Tea recipe. Here it is folks:

Yogi Tea

Ingredients:

  • 4 qts water
  • 1 tbsp cloves
  • 1 tbsp peppercorns
  • 1 tbsp green cardamom pods (crush these first with a rolling pin)
  • 6-8 small cinnamon sticks
  • 1 handful of fresh ginger root (scrubbed clean, not peeled) thinly sliced
  • 1 tea bag (optional)

I like to make at least a gallon at a time.

Bring water to a fast boil in a stainless steel pot. Add the cloves, peppercorns, cinnamon, cardamom and ginger root. Turn heat down so it is just simmering, cover, and let lightly boil for 45-60 minutes. Remove from heat, add black tea, and let sit for another hour (or overnight). This way it gets nice and strong so you can best enjoy this potent spice blend!

When it’s done, strain out and save the used spices. You can freeze them to make another smaller batch of tea later.

To serve the Yogi Tea, just add the milk of your choice, bring it to the boiling point, sweeten and enjoy.

Plain Yogi Tea will keep in the refrigerator for several weeks.

Have fun!
